I love working with clay because it offers endless opportunities to create.
I started my creative journey when my grandmother took the time and patience to teach a left-handed eight-year-old how to crochet. Somehow, she knew I had to sit in front of her and do the stitches in reverse. After much practice, I was so proud of my first project and “hooked” on creating. Then there was embroidery, sewing, knitting, general crafting, acrylic painting, you name it, I did it.
When I found clay, all the other creative endeavors found a new home. Not only could I create something out of nothing but some “mud”, but I could use what I had learned from all the other activities to alter or embellish my work The possibilities were endless. I may never master clay, but I am trying to learn a little more about it every day.
